Endotracheal Tube Holder

Unplanned extubation is a huge problem in hospitals and the current solutions on the market have a range of issues that need to be addressed.  Working with the Spectrum Health Innovations team gave us great access to research, on onsite observation and validation of concepts to help develop the best possible solution.  This project I had to lean heavily on the expertise of the doctors, nurses and members of the Spectrum Health Innovations team (especially the SHI engineer Eric Van Middendorp). I assisted with concept development and into the first couple rounds of prototypes.  Now the technology is patented and is still working through the healthcare system to become an product you could see in the hospitals.
